EDITORS' RANTING
+++++++++++++++++++++
Greetings and thank you for
being an optin subscriber!
After the nice,
much needed, storm and rain of yesterday and this mornings azure blue sky
with floating
white cotton candy clouds that are simply breathtaking and relaxing to
the point I could sit here and look out my window
for hours or go outside and sit in the back yard swing for hours and
watch them float along. Not possible at the moment so bite the bullet
and work... But those beautiful white fluffy clouds
are predicted to turn into more storm clouds later today but I won't complain, if it
happens, as we really could use as much rain as we can get since we are in the
9th year of drought conditions. Life is full of changes just as our
weather is so have you switched to a healthy lifestyle or are you still
on borrowed time until something comes along to move you into that shift
to health? I hope it isn't the later. Have a great weekend, take your
day of rest and relax.

Something To Think About
============================
Lena Note: The
following article is the very reason I keep telling you that anyone over
the age of 10 should be taking balanced minerals as the heart will go
when minerals are out of balance and it seems to be happening younger
than ever now! I may have to lower the recommended age to 7 or 8 with such young ones having heart failures....
Don't let your family be victim of such a tragedy when a simple remedy
exists!
Doctors Report on Heart Attacks in Kids
Oct 1, 2007
By LINDSEY TANNER
CHICAGO (AP) - Beth Meter is a cardiac nurse who has seen plenty of
heart attacks, so when her son complained of sudden crushing chest pain
that spread to his arm, she was certain he was having one.
Doctors at first didn't believe her. That's because her son had just
turned 13.
A report from Ohio doctors documenting nine cases over 11 years in kids
as young as 12 says heart attacks in children are a rare but
under-recognized problem.
For Beth's son, Dan, it took a month to see a specialist who confirmed
the diagnosis. Luckily, 1 1/2 years later, the Strongsville, Ohio, teen
is on heart medicine but is doing well.
"Pediatricians need to understand that this is a true and real
condition," Mrs. Meter said. "Don't just push aside any kid that's
complaining of chest pain."
Dan Meter was among nine children included in a report by Drs. John Lane
and Giora Ben-Shachar at Akron Children's Hospital in Akron, Ohio. All
were stricken between 1995 and 2006 and most were treated at the Akron
hospital. Lane treated a few of the earlier patients when he was at
Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland.
All lacked common risk factors for heart problems, such as obesity,
family history, high blood pressure, unhealthy cholesterol levels and
drug abuse.
The cause of their heart attacks was most likely a heart spasm that
briefly cut off blood supply, Lane said. It is also a rare cause of
heart attacks in adults.
All but one of Lane's patients were boys. Doctors are uncertain whether
girls face a lower risk because there's little in medical literature
about this type of heart attack.
Lane called it "an under-appreciated phenomenon." His report appears in
October's issue of the medical journal Pediatrics.
Chest pain is a common symptom in children, but 95 percent of the time,
it's not heart-related and it is rarely life-threatening, said Dr.
Reginald Washington, a Denver children's heart specialist.
Muscle strains and stress are among common causes of kids' chest pain.
Most heart-related chest pain in kids is caused by infections,
structural abnormalities or problems other than heart attacks,
Washington said.
He said the Akron doctors' report "does a good job of telling
physicians" they shouldn't dismiss heart attack as a possibility in
children.
Dan Meter said the pain hit him during seventh grade social studies
class in March 2006. A teacher noticed he looked pale, and Dan figured
it was a stretched muscle. He didn't tell his mom at first.
"I didn't think that could happen to a kid," said Dan, now 14 and in
ninth grade.
His mother took him to the doctor the next day, then to the hospital,
where the pain returned and spread to his arm. Staffers there dismissed
her concerns about a heart attack.
Dan was hospitalized for two days. Despite abnormal blood tests and
imaging tests, he was told he likely had a heart infection and was sent
home. His pediatrician ultimately him to see Lane.
Lane said parents should consult a doctor any time a child has sudden
chest pain. A heart attack in children is typically a crushing-type pain
that radiates to the arm or jaw or neck - similar to adults' symptoms,
Lane said.
It is uncertain what causes spasm-related attacks, which don't involve
the issues usually seen - narrowed arteries with plaque that bursts,
leading to a clot that blocks blood flow.
Some overweight children have signs of early artery disease. But it
takes years for that to lead to clot-related heart attacks, said Dr.
Dianne Atkins, an American Heart Association spokeswoman and pediatrics
professor at the University of Iowa.
Patients in the Pediatrics report were diagnosed through blood tests
that showed abnormal levels of an enzyme made by injured or dying heart
tissue. Many also had abnormal heart-imaging tests. Both methods are
used to diagnose heart attacks in adults.
"In most cases we didn't see any permanent long-term injury in the heart
function," and none of the patients has experienced any long-term
problems, Lane said.
Although Dan takes heart medicine daily and nitroglycerin pills when
occasional chest pain returns, he still snowboards, shoots hoops and
does other hobbies he enjoyed before the attack.
"I try to keep it out of my mind," he said. "I don't want to be known as
the kid who had a heart attack."
Still, he has advice for other kids who experience sudden, spreading
chest pain.
"Don't be afraid to tell someone because it's very serious," he said.
American Academy of
Pediatrics
LENA'S COMMENT: Sadly, because of the
medications this child is taking he will not live to a very ripe old
age, if only his parents knew about balancing minerals to help heal the
heart and keep it functioning rather than giving him medications that
will slowly kill him...

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!
=======================
According to a study published in the journal Archives of Internal
Medicine, the number of reports of serious adverse events related to
drug treatment has more than doubled in the past decade, rising from
just under 35,000 in 1998 to almost 90,000 in 2005 (Moore 2007).
Similarly, the number of deaths recorded as directly attributable to
drug treatment almost tripled in the same period.
The data were gathered from the Food and Drug Administration's adverse
event reporting system, which relies solely on the voluntary submission
of reports by US physicians or drug manufacturers. It is therefore
highly probable that these figures, alarming though they are, represent
a significant under-estimate of the extent of the problem. For example,
another study, published last month in the journal Drug Safety, found
that physicians very often downplay, dismiss or ignore their patients'
reports of drug side effects (Golomb 2007).
If physicians do not recognize a problem as being drug-related, they are
very unlikely to report it to the FDA. Neither are they likely to be
sufficiently watchful for signs of potentially serious or
life-threatening drug-induced adverse events.

Bottled Water: Now they can
put fluoride in it
Published on Saturday, September 29, 2007
Watch out for that 'healthy' bottled water you're drinking - it might contain
fluoride. America, the world's largest market, is now allowing 'natural' bottled
water to be fluoridated.
The decision has been made by the USA's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) - and
its decision surprisingly goes against the advice of the American Dental
Association (ADA).
The ADA has told mothers that they should not mix fluoridated water into formula
or foods for a child younger than one year - and so bottled water has been an
obvious alternative to tap water, most of which is fluoridated.
The ADA is concerned that excessive fluoride can cause enamel fluorosis in an
infant's developing teeth. Fluorosis is a condition that causes tooth enamel to
discolour and pit. It's estimated that up to 32 per cent of all American
children have dental fluorosis.
Fluoride in water has been linked to arthritis, allergies, kidney and thyroid
dysfunction, endocrine disruption, bone damage and cancer.
And judging by the kids of America, it doesn't do much to promote healthy teeth,
either.

FOOD OF THE WEEK
~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^
Nature's Food Addition Must!
Thought I would give you another strange food this week. One that is an
excellent and important health building addition to your daily nutrient
supplement necessary in this day of rampant diseases and illnesses. Not
recognized as a tangible food that you put on your plate but none the
less a very important and touted by some as Nature's Perfect Food! Also
due to the nature in which it is grown figured you wouldn't want to see
it growing so no graph will appear here today!
Chlorella, a freshwater algae that contains such a wide variety of
vitamins, minerals, enzymes and amino acids that it's considered to be a
nearly perfect whole food. Chlorella is also the richest source of
chlorophyll on earth the chemical that gives plants their green color
and is an essential component in photosynthesis, the process by which
plants convert light into chemical energy. It reportedly contains a very
high amount of chlorophyll.
Animal studies have revealed that chlorella may stimulate the production
of immune system factors like macrophages, leukocytes, and interferon.
But in recent years, chlorella research has moved beyond animal trials
with studies that have examined the therapeutic effects of chlorella on
fibromyalgia. In two separate clinical trials conducted in Japan,
researchers found that daily therapy with 10 grams of chlorella in
tablet form and 100 milliliters of chlorella liquid extract brought
improvements in pain, sleep, and anxiety - all common measures of
fibromyalgia severity. (This may be one of the reasons why Life
Transfusion Ionic Liquid Minerals, which is fortified with chlorella, is
working along with balanced minerals cutting chronic pain in so many.)
Nutrients contained in Chlorella include vegetable proteins, fiber,
vitamins, minerals and chlorophyll. Chlorophyll and its derivatives
stimulate the formation of red blood cells, affect nutrition, and
influence metabolism and respiration, to name just a few.
From heart disease to cancer, from failing vision to fatigue, an
incredible yet affordable product in changing health.
One Doctor Allan Spreen, and M.D., says that chlorella is an
"inexpensive and excellent" nutrient and easily digested.
According to Ralph Moss, Ph.D. renowned publisher of "The Cancer
Chronicles," and cancer researcher chlorella has been shown to
significantly prolong the lives of mice implanted with cancer cells. In
one study, the benefits of chlorella were particularly strong when
chlorella was given before the cancer was introduced, indicating a
potential course of cancer prevention.
Dr. Moss also reports that more than 40 years ago researchers found
chlorella to be effective in reversing the fatigue associated with
chemotherapy. Chlorella has been shown to quickly restore white blood
cells that are killed by chemotherapy, without affecting the potency of
the chemo.
Chlorella is not known to cause side effects, but its use may be
associated with mild temporary adverse reactions triggered by the very
detoxification of pesticides and heavy metals stored in the body when
introduced into the body, an may be experienced as a worsening for a few
days until detoxification is completed. A good thing!
My study on chlorella came to be because I couldn't understand what
constituted my father's prostate cancer swelling to reduce so
drastically fast making it easier for him to urinate in just a few days
after starting his natural protocol. I found a few things that might do
it but when I studied the components in the Life Transfusion Ionic
Liquid Minerals I hit on what I consider the winning reason. Chlorella!
Contained within the minerals as the most likely reason for the fast and
drastic results!
Some studies suggest that Chlorella may be useful for lowering Blood
Pressure in people afflicted with Hypertension. It is also said by some
researchers that Chlorella (8 grams per day) can detoxify persons
affected with Cadmium poisoning. Chlorella prolongs survival times in
persons afflicted with various forms of Cancer - by boosting the Immune
Response, i.e. not by directly killing Cancer cells. Chlorella prolongs
survival times in persons afflicted with Breast Cancer and Leukemia - by
boosting the Immune Response, i.e. not by directly killing Cancer cells.
Recently - 1998), Chlorella (Chlorella vulgaris species) - has
also been shown to contain a Glycoprotein that inhibits the metastasis
of some forms of Cancer. Chlorella facilitates the production of
Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor. Chlorella facilitates
the production of Interferon Gamma indicated in treatment of infections
and tumors. Chlorella facilitates the production of Interleukin 1 (Interleukin
1 alpha form). IL1 is an important risk factor prevention in heart
disease. Also in a number of laboratory and animal research findings
suggest that the algae may have some anticancer properties. One
investigation concluded that a protein extract from one type of
chlorella prevented the spread of cancer cells in mice. Another study in
mice suggested that the extract reduced the side effects of chemotherapy
treatment without affecting the potency of anticancer medications.
Chlorella was discovered in the late 19th century. Due to its high
protein concentration and rapid growth rate, chlorella was investigated
after World War II as a possible commercial food source that never
really took off. In the 1950s, researchers first reported that chlorella
prevented the development of liver disease in mice. A decade later, some
investigators claimed that the algae decreased the side effects of
chemotherapy and slowed the growth of some cancer cells. Most of the
research has been conducted in Japan, where chlorella is a top-selling
dietary supplement. Chlorella farms - closed systems that provide humans
with food, water, and oxygen - have been established in the U.S., Japan,
The Netherlands, Germany, and Israel.
Throughout its history on this planet, chlorella has survived because
its tough outer shell protected its genetic integrity, and it is one of
the most efficient foods on earth in using and concentrating sunshine,
as shown by its high chlorophyll content and rapid reproduction.
Chlorella is a natural, pure, whole food with all the materials to
support life. Cracked cell wall Chlorella provides a tremendous source
of concentrated nutrition.
I get chlorella in my
chosen
liquid mineral complex, which I take twice daily and may very well
be one of the reasons my fibromyalgia has been controlled since starting
that supplementation along with my herbal formulas in 1995 making for a
strong pain treatment.
Begin your health builder program today and include this great food ?
Chlorella - in it. If you need help in where to start with your health
building protocol contact me and along with the doctor we will figure it
out with you.

Diabetes:
Try green tea instead
September 29, 2007
If you suffer from diabetes, drink plenty of green tea every
day. It's just as effective - and far safer - than the world's
leading anti-diabetes drug Avandia (rosiglitazone), which also
increases the risk of heart attack by 43 per cent.
The tea contains an antioxidant called epigallocatechin gallate
(EGCG), which is as effective as Avandia in those with moderate
diabetes.
It's been tested against Avandia on a group of mice with
diabetes, and the mice that were fed EGCG were just as able to
tolerate sugar and produce insulin as the mice given Avandia. At
the end of the 10-week trial, the green tea extract preserved
insulin-producing tissue and gave other protective effects in
the pancreas.
The new study, prepared by researchers at the Karolinska
Institute in Sweden, confirms what we've known for a long time.
Green tea was first mooted as a successful treatment for
diabetes 70 years ago, and recent studies among humans have
found that the more green tea you drink, the better. The most
powerful benefits have been among people who drink up to six
cups of the tea every day.

Arctic Melt
Threatens Indigenous People
October 4, 2007
by Alister Doyle, Environment Correspondent
LONDON - A "grab for the Arctic" will add strains to indigenous
hunters' cultures as a record melt opens the icy region to
shipping or oil and gas exploration, an Inuit activist said on
Tuesday.
Sheila Watt-Cloutier, who is among those tipped to win the 2007
Nobel Peace Prize on Oct. 12, said global warming was happening
twice as fast in the Arctic as elsewhere on the planet with
mainly negative consequences for indigenous peoples.
"There is a real sudden grab for everything up here in the
Arctic," she told the Reuters Environment Summit in a telephone
interview from Iqualuit, northern Canada.
"It's the speed of change that worries me more than anything
else," she said, adding that hunters had scant time to adapt.
The Arctic summer ice shrank to its smallest on record last
month, eclipsing the previous 2005 record by more than 20
percent, according to US satellite data dating back 30 years.
Watt-Cloutier said an opening of the fabled Northwest Passage
for several weeks this summer through a maze of normally
icebound Canadian islands might herald a new international
shipping route between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
That could bring new wrenching change for people in a remote,
sparsely populated region where Watt-Cloutier, 53, said she only
ever travelled by dog sled up to the age of 10.
"What direction are we taking as an Inuit society? How is it we
are going to deal with these monumental changes?" she said.
Oil and gas were likely to be the main draw, bringing risks of
spills, if the thaw continues as forecast by UN climate
scientists. Some US official estimates are that a quarter of the
world's undiscovered reserves may be in the Arctic.
GOLD, DIAMONDS
"In many parts of Canada, there is uranium being talked about,
iron ore, diamonds, gold ... these all have with them very
negative long-term impacts" for traditional Inuit society, she
said.
Some hunters were shifting to adapt to change. Cod were swimming
north in huge numbers and hunters used to catching seals "are
losing one way of life in terms of the seals but they are
gaining in terms of fisheries".
Changes around Iqualuit this summer included a type of black fly
appearing further north than normal even though the summer
overall had been cool and wet.
And Canada might in future have to defend the Arctic because of
competing interests with other states over shipping rights or
oil and gas. Russia planted a flag on the seabed beneath the
North Pole in August in a symbolic claim.
"I would hate to see the Arctic become an extension of an army
camp, (with) Canada trying to assert itself," she said.
Watt-Cloutier is a former head of the Inuit Circumpolar
Conference which says it represents 150,000 people in Alaska,
Canada, Greenland and Russia.
She has tried to put pressure on the United States and other
major emitters of greenhouse gases to cut emissions from burning
fossil fuels, saying climate change is a form of human rights
abuse.
