Arsenic In Your Food?
The journal Food and Chemical
Toxicology found the foods with the most arsenic are any type of fish, followed
by rice, flour, grape juice and spinach. The journal also warns that should you
need testing for arsenic that it shouldn't be done on a Saturday or Sunday
morning. Because fish fries are still popular on Friday nights and the amount of
arsenic from the fish could be enough to trigger a false positive on a urine
test.
Researchers suggest that arsenic testing should always be done in the middle of
the week, when your body levels have returned to normal.
LENA'S COMMENT: This sounds innocuous but it is a very real problem in
some areas within a few miles of us. There are a lot of people becoming ill from
arsenic poisoning in their well water and have had to stop cooking, bathing or
drinking it... basically their wells are useless...

The Season Of Sweet Deception!

The upcoming holidays are ripe for deception this year more than ever
before! With everyone so freaked out about possibly getting the flu that
they are taking care to not overindulge in the sugar department!
By now the message is out that eating sugary foods kills the immune
system. Setting up a deception toward really serious ill health while
everyone seems to be buying into the Splenda deception!
Ever where I go I see these little old gals with bags of Splenda on
their carts or tables set up to sell you on
their wares and passing out free drink or food containing Splenda All
the while saying how healthy it is and how it will prevent you from
gaining weight and/or prevent the immune system's downfall
Someone is not telling them the truth! Or they are not trying to find
the truth. There are tests showing how Splenda causes weight gain and
more not so good things.
Those tests prove my premise and why scientists know that more horrific
illnesses are just around the corner because of the Splenda craze
To begin with there has been no human research done regarding Sucralose
(Splenda)! So who knows what is going to happen to the human body?
So far we know what happens in animals! Tests have shown that sucralose
(Splenda) can cause many
problems in them, such as:
*Aborted pregnancy
*Atrophy of lymph follicles in the spleen and thymus
*Decreased red blood cell count
*Decreased fetal body weights and placental weights
*Diarrhea
*Enlarged liver and kidneys
*Extension of the pregnancy period
*Hyperplasia of the pelvis
*Increased cecal thickening
*Reduced growth
*Shrunken thymus glands (up to 40%)
If that's not enough:
According to the Medical Letter on Drugs & Therapeutics, "Its
long-term safety is unknown."
According to the Sucralose Toxicity information Center "Manufacturer's
hundreds of studies' were clearly
inadequate and do not demonstrate safety in long-term use, some even
shows dangers." You bet they haven't released those to the general
public.
According to Consumers Research Magazine "Some concern was raised about
sucralose being a chlorinated molecule. Some chlorinated molecules serve
as the basis for pesticides such as D.D.T., and accumulate in body fat.
However, Johnson & Johnson emphasized that sucralose passes through the
body unabsorbed." NOT TRUE!!!
A substantial amount of sucralose must be absorbed for the accumulated
DDT and other chemicals that is
showing up in every single body that walks this earth! Do you want to
add to that accumulation with Splenda? "Accumulates in the body fat?"
Could that be why reports are surfacing showing weight gain in people
who use of Splenda, Aspartame, etc.?
The FDA says that sucralose is produced at an approximate purity of
98%. So what are that other 2% impurities?
The final sucralose product is said to contain small amounts of
potentially dangerous substances such
as: Heavy Metals (e.g., Lead, Arsenic, Triphenilphosphine Oxide,
Methanol, Chlorinated Disaccharides, Chlorinated Monosaccharide). So is
that the other 2% and the FDA is letting you consume those horrific
chemicals legally?
I don't know about you but I don't need arsenic or other toxins in my
body if I can help it!
If you have to have sweets, sugar will be your best bet, just don't
overdo it! Of course for diabetics, who has not discovered that diabetes
can be reversed with an alternative protocol, Stevia or fruit to fill

Strange shape, strange
names but great taste!
I just tried this strange sort of pear shape, sort of a ball shape and
sort of a grapefruit shaped thing last year just because it would make
for less toxins in my body as it has a thick skin making it less likely
to be full of pesticide chemicals. The name was strange food? MANY… I
found out that it carries names like; pomelo = pummelo = Chinese
grapefruit = shaddock! Pronunciation: PUHM-uh-low - The French name
for this fruit is chadec. The current Malayan names are limau abong,
limau betawi, limau bali, limau besar, limau bol, limau jambua, Bali
lemon, and pomelo.
I'll call it a Pummelo as that is what the name on the box says...
Pummel is the largest of the citrus fruits with a shape that can be
fairly round or slightly pointed at one end -the fruit ranges from
nearly round to oblate or pear-shaped. They range from cantaloupe-size
to as large as a 25-pound watermelon and have very thick, soft rind. The
one I bought was sort of pear shaped and about 10 inches across... It is
known in the western world mainly as the principal ancestor of the
grapefruit The pummelo is popular in the Asia and is new to California
but rarely seen in the Eastern United States.
It's sweeter than a grapefruit. The skin is greenish yellow and slightly
bumpy with the feel of citrus skin; flesh color ranges from pink to
rose.
The pulp is milder and sweeter than its closest cousin, the grapefruit.
Pummelos are available mid-January through mid-February from California.
Can be used in the same manner as any other citrus fruit.
Said to be native to southeastern Asia and all of Malaysia; It is said
to grow wild on river banks in the Fiji and Friendly Islands. It is said
to have been introduced into China around 100 B.C. It is much cultivated
in southern China - Kwang-tung, Kwangsi and Fukien Provinces - and
especially in southern Thailand on the banks to the Tha Chine River;
also in Taiwan and southernmost Japan, southern India, Malaya,
Indonesia, New Guinea and Tahiti.
The pummelo is also called shaddock after an English sea captain,
Captain Shaddock, who introduced the seed to the West Indies in the 17th
Century from the Malay Archipelago. The seeds produced fruit somewhat
smaller than the current grapefruit, more like an orange. The size of
the fruit and the fact that it grew in bunches or clusters like grapes
prompted a 19th century naturalist to liken the new fruit to grapes,
with which it has no botanical relationship whatsoever.
Some say the grapefruit is a cross between an orange and the pummelo (or
shaddock), while others believe that grapefruit is a natural mutant
(sometimes referred to as a small shaddock) derived from the seeds
Captain Shaddock brought to the West Indies.
Pummelo skin is also used medicinally in some cultures. For instance, in
Southeast Asia raw pummelo skin pieces are given to patients to eat who
are having problems with excessive coughing and who have a history of
epileptic seizures.
As for the nutrients in a Pummel? Guess it's a mystery as I couldn't
find anything written on the nutrients in one. I am assuming since it's
citrus it has lot of phytonutrients but exactly which ones is a guess...
Since it is used as a medicine in Asia I suspect they are all good!
I prefer mine raw as it is very tasty, just slightly sweeter than a
grapefruit with a very similar taste. I shall be eating many more of
them but I have been unable to find out the exact nutrients but I
suspect they are very near to most citrus fruits in nutrient content….
It is well worth it!

Key Warming Ocean Current
Slowing Down - Scientists

LONDON - The Atlantic Conveyor, a life-giving ocean current that keeps
northern Europe warm, is slowing down, scientists said on Wednesday.
If the 30 percent slowdown seen over the past 12 years is not just a
blip, temperatures in northern Europe could drop significantly, despite
global warming, they added.
Scientists have long forecast that the Atlantic Conveyor that carries
warm surface water north and cold deep water back to the equator could
break down because of global warming.
According to the theory, rising air temperatures cause ice caps to melt,
making the water less salty and therefore less dense so it can't sink
and flow back south.
The scientists on Wednesday said this was the first time that
observations had put flesh on the bones of the theory.
"This is the first time we have observed a change in the current on a
human timescale," oceanographer Harry Bryden said, noting that it had
completely shut down during the ice ages.
But he said the latest figures were far from proving a trend and that
constant and long-term monitoring was needed.
"It is like a radiator heating the atmosphere and is too important to
leave to periodic observations," Bryden told a news conference to flesh
out a paper he co-authored in Nature science journal.
FROM MOROCCO TO MIAMI
The Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research has calculated
that if the current stopped, temperatures in northern Europe could drop
by up to six degrees centigrade in 20 years.
The latest figures, collated last year, are from a string of monitoring
devices at various depths in the Atlantic from Morocco to Miami.
It was the fifth snapshot since 1957 taken in the same area of the
temperatures and currents in shallow, mid and deep ocean.
While measurements in 1981 and 1992 had shown little change, those in
1998 and 2004 had shown a major shift, with less of the warming Gulf
Stream getting up to Greenland and less of the cold, deep returning
current coming back.
The so-called Atlantic Meridional Overturning Current is known as the
Atlantic Conveyor, of which the Gulf Stream is the surface component.
"This is tantalising evidence that there may be a large change in ocean
circulation under way that paradoxically could cause regional cooling,"
said Phil Newton of Britain's independent Natural Environment Research
Council (NERC).
However, the scientists stressed that they could not be completely sure
what was driving the change or how it might alter or be compensated for
by winds that pick up the radiated heat and circulate it.
