Building Your Business at Tradeshows

A few months ago I went to a home show to talk to vendors about
their services and the needs I had with a recent home purchase.
I talked to at least a dozen vendors, gave them my contact
information and requested they call me. All assured me that they
would. Surprisingly, only two did.
Recently, I went to yet another home show. As with the previous
show, I gave my contact information to several vendors who had
products and services I wanted or needed. It is said that
history repeats itself, and in my case, it did. Similar to the
first show, 90% of the vendors never followed up with me. Having
talked to other people with similar experiences at shows, I have
to wonder how companies plan out their marketing strategies. Why
in the world would they invest money in a marketing campaign
without doing all they can to gain the greatest return on their
investment?
Sadly, a great many companies don't know how to gain the
greatest benefit from their investment in a trade show. Many
seem to think all they need to do is show up and the rest takes
care of itself. When I asked one business owner why she didn't
follow up on the stack of names she got at a show her comment
was, "I thought once they saw us at the show, they would
automatically come to our store." This business owner missed a
great opportunity to promote her business.
Tradeshows can be an incredible way to build your business. Or
they can quickly take your company into financial straits.
Before you invest in a show do your homework.
Consider your time and money. How big will your booth be? Who
will design it? How much time do you have to complete the
project? Do you have the manpower? How will you let your
customers know you are at the show?
What is your goal? Are you there to increase sales, have a
presence in the marketplace, introduce new products, and/or
enhance or solidify your image? Decide why you are at a show
before you are there. Unfortunately, many companies decide while
they are at the show and then management feels they have wasted
their investment.
Be specific. Determine specific goals in order to create a
successful experience. Limit the number of reasons why you will
be there. Align your goals with your overall company
objectives. It is a good idea to have a team work on the goals
and then make sure everyone involved in the show knows what the
goals are. This includes everyone from the employees at the
exhibit to the support staff in the office.
Is this the right show? Make sure the show you are planning on
attending will accommodate your goals. How big is the product
show? Who will be in attendance? Will decision makers be there?
Who else will be exhibiting? The answers can usually be obtained
from the show organizers. If the answers to these questions
make it difficult to reach your objectives, and you determine
that there are probably only a handful of members from your
target audience attending, you may want to reconsider
participation. It could be a complete waste of your time, money
and resources. You may still want to attend the show, but as an
attendee rather than an exhibitor.
Develop a good working relationship with show organizers. Most
organizers are more than willing to help you in any way they
can.
They want you to succeed. When you succeed, they succeed. Ask
them for past and present exhibitors list, attendance figures
and profiles on attendees. Find out about pre-show promotion and
advertising. How this is done will tell you a lot about who will
be attending the show.
Be prepared. Another area many companies put little, if any,
effort into is preparing the employees who will be in the booth.
A great deal of how an exhibit is remembered is based upon the
personal contact made with representatives of the vendor or
business. Many companies fail to realize how important it is to
have the demonstrators and sales staff trained for the show.
There are plenty of consultants who can give you the training
you need to gain full benefit at a show. The investment can pay
off handsomely.
Tradeshows and home shows can be very effective marketing
strategies. With proper planning you don't have to be one of
those who contribute to history repeating itself.

Do You Wilt or Are You Blooming In Your

Life can be simple or it can be hard. You are the one to decide
where you want to sit in that equation then you must act on it
or it just becomes another dream without results! Or you become
a wilted Internet flower if you don't know where to look for
help or who to believe!

Do you have a dream of being free of a boss? Dreaming of having
freedom of time to spend doing what you want to do and not what
some boss tells you to do? Are you ready to bloom?

personality? Are you still in that JOB (just-over-broke)

of most things required to build a successful business he only
knew how to build cars that he dreamed about. But to those wet
blankets who tried to smash his dreams his reply was, "I don't
need to know that, I can hire someone to do it for me!"
We all need someone to help us get where we
want to go.
After a twenty year stint as a Medical Office
Nurse/administrator consultant and teacher, a Builder of new
medical practices for seventeen of those twenty years and
dealing with difficult doctors and patients. I had earned a
75% to 80% blockage of heart arteries due to the stress of
it all. I then chose alternative health treatments to regain
my health over the objections of my doctor friends. Doctors
don't know everything!!! I really had no desire to have my
chest cut open along with having my leg veins stripped to
use as the alternative routes or brain insufficiencies that
happens during those surgeries. After regaining my health I
then chose an environmental health network marketing company
and became extremely successful in the first three months. I
really had the tools to help people become healthy and/or
prevent illness and disease and wanted the whole world to
know it.
Then a short two years later I was once again forced to
change my lifestyle due to a fractured C-7 of the neck that
set me on the sidelines for over a year then followed that
with cancer, a latent result of years of smoking that ate up
another year out of my life. This does not sit very well
with someone who intends to remain active and successful
until the day she dies!
If you do Network marketing you know that it requires your
strict attention one of the utmost importance's and when you
are unable to give your business the many hours necessary,
you are on the downhill slide. I was about three months away
from reaching the level that would have afforded me a
lifetime residual income.
I did a lot of travel in my offline network marketing
business and loved every minute of it and sitting at home as
an invalid was not a choice I made but was forced to make. I
could either sit home, wilting and cry over spilt milk or I
could choose to bloom where I was and I chose the latter.
I found the Internet at my son and daughter-in-laws
insistence!
I opened several mall stores online and then I was told I
should get into all the chat lines there I would find the
people I wanted to reach, did that!
And then I was told if I joined all those hundreds of lists
and sent out my ads I could really move my book and
products, did that!
Next I was told to put my ads into every free classified
section online that I could find. Spent hours upon hours,
days upon days doing that.
Then came the email lists, but no instructions on how to
build a prospective customer list, only that I didn?t need
to spend money for them? Was told what spamming is and not
to do it but given instructions on how to do it? There is
so much confusion out there that I was sure if I continued
that route that in a few years I would figure it out and
have the success I wanted! But I got tired of searching
spending 12 to 18 hours a day online trying to find the
answers and realized after a few months of doing all this
that I was not being told the true way to succeed online.
So I then proceeded to buy several books from several
so-called gurus of the Internet and each of them had a
slightly different view but about the same as what I had
already been told. Bought several programs that was supposed
to send my message out to everyone! WASTED A LOT OF TIME AND
MONEY! And OH the email that flooded my mail boxes. It was
maddening!
FINALLY SUCCESS, after aligning myself with some smart
internet millionaires.
