bit of my philosophy poking its head out
here! I just suddenly realized that
our
weather in Chino Valley is exactly
like an ever changing entrepreneur's life.
Even with all the marvelous tips and
tricks buried in your head you never
know from one day to the next exactly what
the weather/business is
going to do and the weather people can't
predict it 100% of the time either!!!
Preferred - Sunshine and fluffy white clouds
= Lots of cash rolling in and
people saying great things about your
product/service and you feel on top of
the world.
Tolerable - Clouds Preceding a Storm Rolling In = A
mixed bag; not as much cash as you would
like coming in with a day of some
complaints and some praise!
Necessary - Rain falling outside =
Tiring after awhile
with constant pushing on to do what you
must to succeed and ignore the drips who
complain. When you go out in it you must
use protective gear to evade the wet
cold drops of rain, just as you must put
on a coat of armor to withstand the ups
and downs of business...
Hidden pitfalls -
Waking to Snow Covered Wonderland
= You would rather gaze out the window
into the beautiful world of pristine
white yet you know that underneath that
beauty is dirt and muck. You enjoy the
beauty for the moment then prepare for
the muck knowing that it will come!
But if you wait long
enough the part of being an
entrepreneur/weather you like will raise
its head and you will be joyous, if you
persevere!

The Ugly Truth About
Advertising On FFA Pages
by Marketing Basics
FFA stands for "Free-For All," and one
of the biggest myths on the Internet is
that if you advertise your website's URL
on thousands of FFA pages, you'll be
flooded with traffic, and increase your
link popularity and search engine
ranking.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Here's why: Very few people actually
read the ads on FFA pages. They visit
FFA pages for the same reason you do--to
post their own ads--not to look at
someone else's. So basically, your
submission is just a dead link.
As far as increasing your site's link
popularity, research has shown that
submitting to FFA pages does NOT
increase your "link popularity" or
search engine ranking. In fact, linking
to FFA pages could actually hurt your
ranking, because many search engines
will penalize you if they think you are
trying to artificially increase your
link popularity.
Also, many individuals use
auto-submitters to post their ads. This
means that many times a real person
never actually sees your ad anyway.
In addition, there's a limit to the
number of ads that can be posted to an
FFA page. This means that as new ads are
posted, your ad drops further and
further down the page, until it drops
off completely.
In fact, since most FFA pages are
constantly bombarded with submissions,
your ad will probably only appear for a
very short period of time--sometimes
only an hour or two.
And if you hate SPAM, you're really
going to hate FFA pages! Here's why:
When you post on FFA pages, you have to
provide your e-mail address, and then
the promoter of the site will promptly
send you e-mails trying to sell you
something.
All or most of the e-mails you'll
receive will be pure garbage and scams.
For example: Earn thousands weekly
working from home and other equally
outrageous claims.
Although some FFA pages claim to be
"SPAM free", they really aren't. So, if
you auto-submit your site to thousands
of FFA pages, you can expect to receive
hundreds and hundreds of e-mails within
days--and they'll just keep right on
coming unless you unsubcribe to each
one. And sometimes the e-mails won't
even allow you to unsubscribe.
Here's something else to consider: Most
of the people who submit to FFA pages
are either on an extremely tight budget
or flat-out broke. That's the main
reason they're submitting to FFA pages
to begin with. That means that by the
slim chance someone actually did see
your ad on an FFA page and clicked on
it, the chances of them actually buying
anything are remote at best.
Our advice: Don't waste your time with
FFA pages. They just aren't worth the
headaches!

How To Change
Your Life By Changing Your
Motivation Style

If you are not as productive as
you'd like or tend to procrastinate,
you can become motivated by changing
your personal style.
The trick lies in making the
activities you put off more
interesting, easier, and less
unpleasant. One way to make a job
easier is to break it into smaller
jobs.
If your task is to file your income
tax return, you may view it as time
consuming and tedious. But if you
break it into smaller categories
such as gather records, download tax
software, and prepare a rough draft,
the tasks don't seem as difficult
and you are likely to complete them
in considerably less time.
Some other ways to make those
undesirable jobs seem more bearable
are to prioritize, use
self-discipline, and reward yourself
for small accomplishments.
Try to do the least desirable tasks
early in the day so you'll look
forward to having the rest of the
day to concentrate on more pleasant
jobs.
Keep in mind that self-discipline is
something you do for yourself, not
to punish yourself. Make a schedule
and stick to it.
Don't forget to reward yourself for
each step you take in overcoming
procrastination. Positive
reinforcement goes a long way in
changing negative behaviors.
Here are a few suggestions as to how
you can get motivated and quit
procrastinating:
1. Tasks will seem less daunting if
you break them into several steps
over a few days or weeks. Don't
expect yourself to do everything all
at once. Don't worry about doing
the job perfectly. Once you quit
procrastinating, you'll have more
time to go back and perfect each
particular task. Allowing yourself
adequate time to finish a task will
give you more time for corrections
later.
2. Find a supportive co-worker or
friend to help motivate you to get
moving. Don't schedule important
tasks at a time of day when your
energy is low. Put the most
difficult tasks at the top of your
list and work from there. Reward
yourself for reaching critical
points in your least favorite jobs.
Having something to look forward to
is a great motivator.
3. All times of day are not equal.
If you are a morning person, then
tackle the most difficult tasks when
you are at your best. Reserve your
most demanding activities for the
time when your energy is at its
highest. Save the small jobs that
require little thought for the time
of day when you are at your lowest
productivity level. Accomplish your
tasks efficiently and you will see
an improvement in your time
management and motivational skills.
4. Start yourself down the road to
success by setting clear, attainable
goals. Break tasks into smaller
pieces so they will seem less
difficult. Get organized and
prioritize your activities from most
important to least important.
Eliminating the harder tasks will
leave you feeling good about your
work and motivate you to continue.
Keep focused on the end result
instead of concentrating on how hard
it will be to break your old
habits. Having a light at the end
of the tunnel will make your efforts
seem worthwhile and the reward
waiting for you will keep you
motivated to achieve your goals.
Procrastination is unproductive and
can even be harmful to your well
being if allowed to get out of
control. Stop making excuses,
organize your thoughts and tasks,
and be on your way to get your life
under control and get motivated!
